I’m Deborah Landry, a multifaceted artist, writer, and lesson plan developer dedicated to empowering individuals through life skills education. My journey has taken me from serving as a carpenter and curriculum developer in the USAF to creating vibrant community-based public art. Today, I draw upon my diverse experiences to help others navigate their own paths with creativity and confidence.

About Me

Artistic Journey Art guides me in every aspect of my life. I flow between all methods and materials to create art, from papermaking and textiles to printing and painting. My Journey sculptures reflect the myriad stories of people’s lives, using all mediums to weave their unique experiences into tangible expressions. My years of experience as an artist working with various materials enable me to tell these stories authentically and powerfully.

Professional Background Since 2008, I have been a professional artist, though my passion for art has been lifelong. My home and studio in Georgia, surrounded by nature, provide a serene backdrop for my creative endeavors. I thrive on sharing my passions, teaching classes in women’s carpentry, art making, kitchen, and gardening skills. My ten years in the USAF as a carpenter and education curriculum developer, followed by a BFA in sculpture from the University of West Georgia, have equipped me with a unique blend of skills. Over 20 years as a community-based public artist, I have collaborated with hundreds of people to create murals and sculptures across the United States.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that everyone has the potential to grow and thrive. By providing the right tools and nurturing a creative environment, I help individuals unlock their potential and face challenges with confidence. Whether through artistic projects, interactive workshops, or reflective exercises, my goal is to inspire and empower.
